The next PAGE21 consortium meeting will be the Interim General Assembly, held in 5-7 May in Exeter.

The interim GA will be a working meeting with the sole objective of working in cooperation on the PAGE21 syntheses papers that will come out at the end of the project.

Since this is a working meeting around specific topics, it will not be as big as the usual GAs. In fact, the WP leaders will contact those willing and able to participate in the writing process in order to ensure that at the end around each paper will be manageable amount of people from all relevant WPs.

Travel to and from Akureyri

To travel to Akureyri, you must fly via Keflavik international airport. The main airlines operating flights to Keflavik are the Icelandair and WOW air. In addition, at least following airlines seem to operate flights to Keflavik: Lufthansa, Norwegian, SAS, easyJet, Luxair and AirBerlin.

From Keflavik you must take a FlyBus to Reykjavik domestic airport. Make sure to purchase a Flybus Plus ticket and listen instructions in the bus in order to know if you will have to change to a smaller bus at BSI Bus terminal to go all the way to the domestic airport. The ticket costs 2500 ISK and can be purchased online here or at the Keflavik international airport.

The bus ride between Keflavik and Reykjavik takes about an hour, so make sure to have ca. 3 hours between international and domestic flights.

Taxis are also available at the Keflavik International Airport. The price for taxi between Keflavik and Rkv domestic airport is appr. 10 000 ISK.

The domestic flights are operated by Flugfelag Islands / Air Iceland. To purchase your tickets between Reykjavik and Akureyri online, go here.

Excursion

On Wednesday October 14, we will go for a half-day excursion to the Lake Myvatn area, see here. The area hosts some of the most spectacular features of Icelandic nature raging from craters and mud pots to Nature baths in the "Blue Lagoon" style. The weather in October ranges in avegare from 8°C to 4°C with high possibility of rain. For the excursion, make sure thus to bring with you good hiking boots, wind and waterproof clothing, hat and cloves as well as a swimming suit and towel.
